In 2008, I worked on house price models. I was a small part of a team modeling house prices and eventually, housing crisis solutions. For the house price model, a major part was forecasting the future change in house prices.

The statistic that measured house price changes was called the House Price Appreciation (HPA). The idea that house prices could only go up was so ingrained in the culture that the statistic to measure changes even assumed it.

Is healthcare recession-proof?

A job in healthcare was always considered the most stable. Rain or shine, recession or boom, people would always get sick, people would always need care. With an aging population, there would be a growing shortage of care providers.

In 2018, the healthcare sector outgrew almost every other sector and was projected to grow much faster than the rest of the economy through the next decade. But, with COVID-19, that reality has been shattered. For the first time, medical organizations are forced to face their mortality with staff furloughs and a rapid decline in patient volume.

Time to rebuild healthcare

Thankfully, healthcare organizations are starting to reopen.  Reopening presents an opportunity if done correctly. Rebuilding patient volume will be key to having lasting success.

COVID-19 caught us all by surprise.  You couldn’t control that, but you can control how you rebuild and plan for the future.

You’ve already shown resiliency by navigating the pandemic waters, transitioning to telemedicine, and keeping patient care at the center of it all.

The pivoting time during a crisis is over, and now you must plan for the future: how to manage pent-up patient demand and get your staff back to work.

QueueDr innovation

QueueDr always stays ahead of the curve and changes with landscapes to meet customer needs.  That’s why since the onset of COVID-19, we developed two new additional products.

Switch, helped providers easily take in-person patient appointments and switch them to telemedicine.

reBook, our newest product, takes all patients who were cancelled because of COVID-19, and automatically reBooks them back on the schedule.

You can also download our playbook to rebuilding patient volume.

Our customers who used these products were able to manage the pandemic and focus resources on other areas other than scheduling.  As you build back up to full capacity, there is no time to waste.

Reopen. reBook. Rebuild.
